Listening to the Saints broadcast will never be the same.

I always listen in on the way back from the deer camp. Jim paints a beautiful picture of the game but Hokie always showed the true, raw emotion of the fans. You had an idea of how the play was going to go just from hearing Hokie's background reactions. It was a wonderful thing.

RIP Hokie!

This is a really tragic coincidence. There were two people set to be announced into the Saints HOF this year: Will Smith and Hokie Gajan.

So true. Can't tell you how many times the Saints would make some awful play that would piss me off, but I'd still have to laugh at hearing "gaww" or "God dangit" from Hokie in the background. That happened a lot when I was a kid.

And on the flipside, his excitement for big plays made them that much more special.

I always felt like he was "our" (the fans) guy in the booth, and he embraced that.

Wow... That's fricking awful man. What a tough past few days to be a Saints fan.

RIP Hokie. One of the greats in Saints and LSU history. Will never be forgotten!

I had the pleasure of being a sophomore dressed out for varsity football and being dragged about 40 yards face in mud trying to bring him down. That is actually one of my most memorable moments and my old friends still laugh and remind me of it. I also was chuckling this morning with his Rhinoshield "Pete the Painter, with some watered down something he calls paint." commercial.

And I loved watching him run as an LSU Tiger who hit a hole like a god damn freight train.

I miss him already.

To me, I'll always remember him screaming "intercepted!!" when Tracy Porter picked off Farve in the 2009 NFC Championship game. You knew that every other Saints fan had that same reaction. That great, great season seemed to be crushingly fading away as the Vikings moved into FG range, only to have the completely unexpected happen.

The Super Bowl win was great. Porter's interception of Manning was great. But to me, that NFCCG will always be my favorite. Saints fans went from despair to hope in the blink of an eye and Hokie was there to voice the shock and excitement we all had at that exact moment.
