I saw them at The Varsity in '92. One of the loudest shows I've ever been to. I could feel the bass drum hitting me in the chest.

I was there too. And saw them again in LA when friends lived there. That 1992 Varsity show they brought way too many speakers for the size venue..we stood in the back by the bar..the back of my skull was pounded by the reverb bouncing off the brick wall behind us..loved it!

Mike Ness gave the token 'you kick arse fill-in-the-blank city" saying NO instead of BR(had played there the night before)..everyone chuckled.

SD was huge from 1990 to around 1993, as Prison Bound, SD self-titled, and Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell, along with some MTV videos, shot them into notoriety.

Ness had drug problems, lost his buddy Darnell the guitarist, and they lost traction around the late 1990s after WLWHWT and Live @ Roxy GH compilation, then Ness solo career. But, are back to rocking with their last two albums.

Great interview of Ness and some tracks on Guitar Center Sessions available online. Also a a really good one with Dwight Yoakam..love that show on Directv.

In the early 1990s, you'd see this decal on lots of college kids cars and Jeeps..
