Readings on Bluff Swamp LINK and Alligator Bayou LINK are rising, but I'm really concerned that the meter closer to the Amite on Manchac at Little Prairie is broken LINK. Hasn't updated in almost 2 hours--supposed to be every 15 minutes. The first two that I mention above are still reporting at those intervals

And for the record, no levees have been breached as there aren't any real levees in the area.

In other news, this is gonna be bigger than Katrina.

I don't even know... anywhere but there.. as far away as possible... I've got so many messages and comments so far from people who are basically fricked... It's getting to be too much.

Dude, I mean... please don't just lay down. If you're gonna leave, start packing now. This shite doesn't just creep up on you, when it happens it happens.

Lurker checking in.

I've been following this thread all day and now I'm really starting to get worried. I'm in LBP off River Road, we haven't had anything bad yet but with this backwater stuff and the new the storms I don't know man. Any idea how bad it could get here if at all?

If anyone is wondering why wireless/cell service is down, most of the cell sites in the BR area are on ground level except if they're adjacent to a river. Also, cell sites require transport back to a central office. In all likelyhood, that transport path is now underwater.

I didn't turn them off. Had to get out of there while I still could.

Turned onto Sherwood to leave and there was already incoming water maybe 4-5 blocks from Goodwood. I turned around quickly and was able to get to a friend's apartment off of Jefferson near Essen.

My home is still high enough off the ground that I'm hopeful it will be spared, but I'm expecting the worst.

Family friends living off of Bristol Ave debated for an hour whether to leave or not and now they are flooded in. If there is any debate, please evacuate and be safe.

looking at the lake charles radar it looks like a small scale low has developed right off of Cameron that is funneling all this rain towards us.
