I am sixty years old and lived in Little Woods whereas this same kind of breakwater seawall extends along the lake not protected by concrete seawall. While I cannot date it--it's only apparent purpose was to break wave action and to prevent erosion.

It has been there when my dad was a boy growing up [1940's] so it was placed there a long time ago.
