Damn, this would suck for coaching and recruiting. He's given LSU a lot of great years. Can't blame him for wanting to move up.

VERY well said. I have stated that I'm not a fan of the O hiring, but I have since moved on and will get behind him and the staff. They did some nice things at times this year while being thrust into this position with little time to adjust.
Get this guy in place, let the spring and fall come, and I think LSU will look much improved on O in 2017.

It's partly based on likelihood of a coach being available to come on board.

Cooper has become so overrated on this board and chances are the whole lying about traveling expenses will probably make it pretty tough to bring him back even if they wanted to

I don't mind having a couple coopers on board i.e. Guys that can do more than light up a living room.
Although since our interi-- err ace recruiter head coach has not exactly aced the recruiting so far, we may need some "continuity" of having a recruiting-centric staff from the previous regime.

Yeah, people seem to forget that he never actually recruited off campus and only got guys committed at summer camp each year.
Falsifying expense reports for a state job probably should have landed him a lot more trouble than he got in.
