Is this some of the best Boudin in Louisiana? I've never had any, but people in the Chuck swear by it. Worth buying or get something else?

It might be some of the best in Lake Charles but not even top 25 in Louisiana

I'm not making the claim gramps...just asking. People round the Chuck swear by it. I found it hard to believe so I decided to bring it to the worlds most enlightened people to seek the truth.

Just moved from Lafayette where I grew up on dons, Billy's and best stop boudin to lake Charles and probably the thing I've missed the most about Lafayette is the damn boudin. The stuff in Lake Charles is just unseasoned mush in a casing.

The Market Basket in Lake Arthur has a pretty good boudin

Try the following:
Homsi's on Kirkman or broad
Sonnier's on mill St.
Hackett's on hwy 14
Famous foods on hwy 14
Leonards on hwy 14
Unseasoned mush in a casing my arse

The smoked boudin is the bomb, but you should just ask the "experts" on here.

I believe Sonniers was started by the guy who was originally making Market Basket boudin. I've had, and really like Sonniers

I've never cared much for Market Basket's boudin, but I believe the boudinlink guy has them rated as an A.
I really like Sonnier's though. I'd put it up with anything in Lafayette.

Market Basket has 4 options.
Regular
Regular smoked
Jalapeño
Smoked Jalepeno
I travel a lot for work, and I will say this. Every dog has his day. I got verbally harassed on TD one day when I bought a cold cracklin at Best Stop one Sunday. I generally love their cracklins, but I find a few other places are more consistent. The owners of these establishments can not control every single thing put out by their business.
I will also say I love all Boudin. Market Basket is not bad in this area. I also like famous foods.
The green onion sausage at Market Basket is also good.

I was told Market Basket got the recipe when they bought the old Mere's grocery store. The smoked is the best I bring it back to BR every time we are in town but they sell out a lot.

The one in Sulphur has smoked pepper jack that is very good. I stop and Billy's and Best Stop at least once a month and bring some to our office in BR and the Market Basket is really not far off of those.

It's delicious, it's sad that BR and NOLA have shitty boudin
