I think the misspelled names have been spotted.

Not listed but closely known to me:

David - Dah-Veed

Rigaud - Ree-go

Eschete' - Esch-Tay

My aunt's in-laws once asked her how she like living in Thib-a-Docks.

I have relatives named Rene', Emile, Aurelie, Hansell, Aubenia, Odette, and Lydia (pronounced Lee-Jah, y'all), etc.

LSU has had some notable French-named players such as Garland Jean-Baptiste and Ricky Jean-Francois, and a fullback whose given name was Chaille (pronounced Shelly). I do find it irritating when the professional athletic event announcers can't even get LeBlanc right. C'Mon man, you're getting paid - do a little homework.

Thibodaux here, only people I know that say pee-row are from BR and north shore areas.
Vacherie here and agreed. My wife (from BR) and I argue over this every time someone says pirogue

Yeah i grew up with Bergeron being Bah-jer-aw. But moved to BR and its Ber-ger-on.

Same with Pitre. I grew up with a Pitre and my dad grew up with another and in Acadiana its pronounced 'peet'. They hated being called 'peetree'. I moved to BR and out here its peetree.

I don't think so, Tim. I don't think I've ever claimed to be from "da baya."
