They were destroying teams that year even in the tourney. I think the closest game up until the Indiana game was against Wichita State and that was not even that close.
I remember watching the Lamar game and Willie Sims scored something like 32-33 points. I actually went to the Mid West regionals in the dome and watched them go in dry on Arkansas who had beaten them earlier in the year

Good Lord. Fess Irvin was maybe in 6th grade at that time.
How long before someone claims that Torris Bright and Bob Pettit were on that '80-'81 team?

I'll never forget the 60 footer Maravich made at halftime of the 1981 Georgia game. Sparky Wade gave him a high five. When we got up by 40, Coach Harry Rabenhorst put Ben Voogd in.

The only bad thing about that game was Shaq missed 30 free throws and fouled out in the first half, but Brady Ball was steamrolling in '80-'81.

This is exactly right. Macklin had tape on two fingers and was not the same

I wish they'd bring them back. I like the idea of more than one team being able to end their season with a win.
I bet you think everyone needs trophies and participation ribbons too, right?
