The talent has been there at QB, just not the development or offensive system. There was not one good starting QB at LSU that Miles took straight from high school and developed year one. Jefferson had a great sophomore year (in spite of a dreadful OL and zero rushing threat), Lee was pretty efficient as a redshirt senior, but that was about it for a man that ran the program for over 10 years. You can't tell me that many QBs were just awful to begin with. We're not talking NFL or anything, just good college QBs. I've seen guys that couldn't start or lost their starting jobs to mediocre players yet were stars on other teams like Nathan Peterman - Tenn to Pitt, Clint Trickett - FSU to WVU, Jacoby Brissett - UF to NCST, Jake Coker - FSU to Bama, Jeff Driskel - UF to LA Tech, etc).

Once, and I do mean once, LSU gets consistently good QB play, the dynasty will begin. LSU is the only school with top 5 talent over the last 5 years that hasn't won a national championship. Hell, we haven't even come close. Our last 11+ win season was in 2011. Penn St has had an 11 win season since we last did, think about that one. A school that was under heavy sanctions and in the same division as Meyer and Harbaugh. Did it with an awesome back in Barkley and a redshirt freshman QB who started weak and finished incredibly strong over the season. A playmaker QB in an open offense. Really wish we give one of the younger guys a chance at QB this year.
