Or if we fired Miles at the end of last season instead of barely mid season, is O even considered an option? Since he wouldn't have had a chance to be our interim?

correct, this can always happen when you have an interim coach, he can do well and most idiots will say "well lets just hire him! he won!".. we have a state full of idiots..
