Home depot sells a variety pack of bulbs. I just remember it being about half the price of the one echo bulb they sell.
It sounds like a carb issue. Just try to narrow it down by elimination. Take off the filter and if it stays started then it is the filter. Check the spark plug if dirty. Make sure you have clean/new gas.
