Anyone wanna guess how this affects our committed OL, especially the two JUCOs?
This probably affects Clapp, Brumfield and Weathersby coming back more than anything. My guess is Clapp is the only one to leave for NFL (Late 2nd or 3rd round pick). Brumfield and Weathersby are at best 5th round picks unless they test well at the combine.

So if Grimes is staying and coaching through the bowl game, is Cregg able to visit any recruits before then? I would imagine that would be a "no".

I was generally complimentary of Les' assistant coach hires, particularly on paper. Obviously, Malveto was a glaring error, and loyalty to Peveto and Cameron over time (when they weren't getting it done) hurt him, particularly at the end.
But, his other hires were generally solid. O has been better, so far. From his selection of Ensminger as interim OC, to Canada (again, on paper, great hire), upgrades across the board on the offensive side now, which is remarkable as O is a defensive guy.
Pleased so far because, if O is to be successful as a "CEO"-type HC, he has to make A+, A and, at worst, B+ hires to replace assistant coaching losses.
