No, even for the good programs it’s usually just parents in attendance
and some students at times... but yeah you're pretty well accurate. Then the state finals is packed with tons of casual fans which is nice.

I went to Episcopal and they didn't do this shite for us. Motherfrickers.

I did go to Quebec and Paris through school though.

Played at a 5A school and realized that good soccer teams have 3 or 4 actual soccer players that understand the game and the rest of the guys are just above average athletes that like to play sports. We were a pretty good team with that general makeup

there are two good schools , catholic and st pauls who will play one another

School soccer sucks in every state. Really outside of football, there is no school sport that can compete with outside leagues or club options.

We've got a local team that does the European trip to play big-name developmental teams. It's nothing more than an expensive vacation trip for the families and something the kids can "brag" about. I expect the coach gets a free trip out if it too.

Thats not really what high school sports are about. I played and I cared. So did my coaches and teammates. Seems like plenty to me.

Top level soccer is a fairly boring sport. Low level soccer is like watching a dripping faucet fill up a 44 oz cup.

Do some teams still play on football fields and not regulation soccer size? It was bullshite with the crown of the field and huge unathletic dudes who could reach the goal easily with a corner throw in

You do realize that Maxpreps does multiple soccer rankings depending on the season. So states that play soccer in the winter are the only schools included in the winter rankings.

Yall easily have the nicest playing field in the state.
Hell, even the grass is manicured where there are light and dark green shaded lines.

St. Paul’s group does well when they play out of state. Won 2 out of 3 against good California teams a few weeks ago. Other one was a tie. Just got back from Disney with win, loss, and tie.

Baton Rouge 03 club team was really good last year and got knocked out by South Carolina team that won Nationals.

FC Tammany 02 G team from Covington went undefeated at Disney Soccer Showcase, winning 4-0, 7-0, and 2-0. They were also finalists at Jefferson Cup last year ... another prestigious national club tourney.

High school soccer in Louisiana- does anyone care?

Aside from the parents and the players’ boyfriends/girlfriends- no. Literally zero interest in this state for soccer.
