I will never understand the inability for people to admit that the newer Honda is underpowered poorly built crap.

I have 7 Hondas, one polaris, and one yamaha. I will not buy a new Honda atv until they fix their emissions issues, electrical connector issues, bearing issues, and power issues.

Y'all keep sucking down the koolaid, my yamaha has been awesome and reliable. Newpolaris is one of those things . Only new Honda is a trx90. And it's the only Honda a tv built in Japan with Japanese parts.

Not Taiwan like every other new honda.

For ATVs? Sure. But for smaller engines, mowers, generators, etc., Honda is one of the best. Maybe that's because Yamaha doesn't make some of those products, idk, but Honda does well on the small side of things.

2014 Honda rancher 420 and I pull heavy choppers made for a tractor with no trouble. Plenty of power for me for the price.

Only problem I’ve had is the sensor on the muffler goes out. Takes just a couple minutes to change and not very expensive.

How would you rank the major mf’s currently?

That would depend entirely on what you are doing with it.

For me, ATVs, I really like the hicomp grizzly before the 708 motor that's out now. Nothing wrong with the twin cam, but when you hit very high hours or mileage, valve seals will start to leak. Talking 10-12k miles. I really liked polaris's 800 liberty motor, which isn't in an Atv these days.

The only ATVs I own at the moment are Honda. I have a 16 and 18 yamaha and Polaris side by side that see the majority of my time. The yamaha has 7k miles on it and is perfect. The Polaris has a few hundred, has had a hiccup or two under warranty.

For other than Honda go to Road and Track Powersports in Brookhaven. They saved me over $2000 on a Kawasaki Mule. I drove an hour to pick it up, but worth the travel. This place near me was adding all kinds of stupid fees.

Yep, I used to buy Honda everything, but their ATVs I’ve been lacking for about 8 years. Better products out there like Suzuki and others. I have over 24k miles out of my 750 Suzuki that works 5 days a week up steep rainforest mountains pulling a 4x8’ trailer full of stuff year round.

My ricefield Honda hunting season friends can’t even get a season or two out of them without something going wrong. Sucks, cause Honda makes some of the best products out there, but not ATV’s anymore.

For that sort of work, I'd get a Polaris with a warranty. Maximum torque.

The Kodiak is a fine bike. And 50ftlbs of torque is a shite ton, but if you're really going to be working it hard in low, the Polaris is better.

However, if you ever intend to spray with it, can't be bothered to do your driveline greasing, and may occasionally forget to put it in low, the yamaha is more forgiving.

I bought a 2017 Rancher 420 4x4 manual shift in September for 4897. That was at Brookhaven Honda.

Call Brookehaven and get the best price then call Great River in Natchez and they will beat it enough to make your drive worth it. I have bought one from each and have been pleased with Great River Service over the phone since I'm in SWLA. They have had me take mine to Lake Charles Honda for issues and had the appointment set up before they called me back and follow up call once service was complete. And had zero balance bills when I showed up each time unless it was on me and not under warranty. Great folks.

How's the taxes work when buying in MS for a LA resident? Any extra hassle buying it out of state?

Try ATV ZONE in roseland. I seen they are carrying Honda now. They have every brand on the showroom floor. go test different models and see what fits your needs best.

Just as an FYI for anyone who might be in the market for a new bike this fall, Honda of Covington was willing to match Brookhaven's price over the phone.

Just an FYI, I just bought a Viking a few weeks ago...but I did glance at the Honda section at Friendly because my wife got distracted, Idk what's going on but they are priced lower than they were even a few months ago when I got my other bike. They seemed pretty understaffed though.

Only had like two saless girls working.
