McMillan looks like 10 pounds heavier and will run more.
215 is too small for a running QB.

Hate is a strong word. I have to believe most of us just want to see marked improvement at the QB position, no offense to DE. The Spring game did very little to get my hopes up in that regard.
I don't think I'm the only only one, either.

agree completely. I'll never understand the "I'll never root against LSU, ever" crowd. Sometimes, for the long-term health of the program, you have to endure some short term pain. Otherwise, we let O linger here at 8-4 for a few years, recruiting suffers, and it's much harder to dig out of that hole.
Yeah, recruiting will suffer more if the team goes 8-4 more so than if the fans turn their back on the team. Makes sense.
Recruiting suffers when fans constantly whine and talk shite about the coaching staff and administration. We make such a big deal about keeping Louisiana players, not realizing these players are kids that are highly impressionable. That negative sentiment radiates throughout the state making it tougher to grab kids, because they have heard that there isn’t anything special about LSU.
You root against LSU, you root against the kids that came to play here, typically choosing us over other great programs. It’s ironic that you think the people that would never root against LSU are the short sighted ones. As fans, we only have a small amount of control, and it is all done through support of the team.

This is refreshing. Now fans fighting over QB. Leaving coaches alone. Personally I don't see McMillan winning the job Hasn't done anything to win the job. Not saying any of them have . The cream will rise to the top

You aren't. Unfortunately, we have too many fans that want to draw a line in the sand on every debate.
Skeptical about anyone or anything regarding the program? You're a hater, not a real LSU fan, only care about being right, etc.
I don't see how any opinion on the QB position can be wrong yet since none of the three have done anything to separate themselves thus far.

Recruits don't make decisions based on fan message boards. Good lord, man, where do you get that nonsense?

None, none of the dummies that will post a response will even try to understand that young student athletes grow in the program. We will see when the lights come on, but just because this youngster has not receive the preseason hype of the others, they really do a misserviceice to the team and JM. Hopefully he is old enough at this point to use all the dummy bs as motivation & just bow them off for what they are - dummies.

It was addressed on the first page. Not one post has denied players grow in a program. There are only questions about how much. It's unusual for an upperclassman QB to be buried on a depth chart and suddenly become a competent starter within one off-season.

It's been posted repeatedly that the best guy should start. How are having opinions or questions about that doing a disservice to McMillan and the team?

McMillan isn't Deshaun Watson We beat out the likes of Arkansas State for his services. I realize teams find a diamond in the rough occasionally but let's be realistic. He's a dual threat guy with a below average arm who's older and more experienced than our other 2 options
Come on guy. I'm not saying he Watson. I'm saying many LSU fans seem to think dual threat means can't pass which is not true. Watson was used as an example of a dual threat who passed for 400+ yards twice against Bama.
As concerns the Arkansas State reference, you do know many NFL QBs had to get there through schools like Arkansas State because the big schools did not offer. LSU offered McMillan.

First, I never said dual threats can’t perform at LSU. I said that with the offenses we’ve trotted out there for years does not allow for a dual threat to flourish.
Second, your comparison of a two time heisman trophy finalist and a guy that would’ve won offensive rookie of the year this passed year in the NFL to what we’ve put out there is laughable to say the least.
You don’t know a thing about quarterbacking and it shows
Nor obviously do you. Open your eyes to the success of dual threats throughout college football. hey aren't all Heisman finalists of NFL rookies of the year.
What you did say is that dual threats can't get 9 out of the box. That is laughable as the Watson example illustrates. As will McMillan, given the opportunity.

This isnt skepticism, its way beyond that
But good news for some of you, if McMillan is as horrible as y'all pretend, coach O will not survive

Rohan on Matt’s show. He likes McMillan. I value his opinion .

Lets take another look at a guy who couldn't beat out anyone until his senior year:
Deion Jones 3-star with offers also from Arizona, Arkansas State, FIU and Houston.
Year Class Solo Ast Tot
*2012 FR 8 15 23* *special teams
*2013 SO 6 9 15
*2014 JR 8 18 26
*2015 SR 57 43 100

You must have me confused with someone else since I've never said McMillan was horrible.

When’s the last time any LSU quarterback has passed for over 400 yards in a game? Hell, make that two games.

My eyes are open, Guy. Know what I see when I see these dual threat guys out there? I see offenses in spread formations, not i formation and single back sets with two tight ends.
Jefferson, Harris, and Jennings were all dual threat guys. Defenses still stacked the box with them. McMillan will be the same thing and he doesn’t scare defenses enough to not stack the boxes and even get out of their base packages for that matter. We do not run an offense that is conducive for dual threat guys to flourish.

He's a much better decision maker and is excellent throwing on the run. Go back and watch his HS film

High school highlights mean zero once you hit college.

Lol, unfortunately all we have for all 3 of our QB's is what the did in HS and what they did in this year's Spring Game.
