Was fine until about 8pm last night when I noticed my throat ached. Woke up this morning with full blown cold symptoms. Going to miss my long run this week unless I magically get better by this evening and wake up tomorrow feeling good.
Might be a blessing in disguise though as I am racing a 5K next Saturday. I’m planning on truly testing my speed and seeing if I can go sub-24 minute. My PR is 26:30 but that’s been in training runs. I haven’t raced a 5K since 2011 when I did a couch to 5K program and finished in 30 minutes.
I’m either going to average sub-8:00 miles or DNF because I face planted. Maybe tapering a bit into it will be beneficial.
