This. They use “meddling in our election” as if it is a term of art yet never define it. Same with “interfering in our democracy”. Both phrases make me cringe. Nothing by platitudes that have become typical of our political discourse

Phishing a private organization, and spreading fake social media articles are not “meddling in an election”. If they are, there are dozens and dozens of domestic groups and individuals who are guilty of the same act. As there would be in any society that encourages the free flow of information, regardless of its validity. The onus is on the individual to verify the information they consume.
