Ask Sean Payton if he thinks Bush was a bust and see what he says.

There can’t be a bigger bust than Alex Molden simply because we passed on Eddie George to take him. For the younger crowd I’ll go with Reggie Bush. Even though he wasn’t a full on bust he didn’t come close to living up to the #2 pick. Jonathan Sullivan was just a lazy slob he was more of a full bust. Sedrick Ellis just didn’t give a shite once he got paid and didn’t care who knew about it. There’s been bunches more we could take about like Stanley jean baptiste, Garret Grayson, Charles Brown and Stephone Anthony. Thankfully for every bust there has been a Colston, Kamara, Jahri Evans, Carl Nicks or Zach Strief.

Have to agree on Reggie. Was not a real bust, but expected more.

The saints fans calling Reggie a bust are insecure in their sexuality.
NFCCG and SB don’t happen in 2006 and 2009 with out him.

quote:I'd say he definitely approached "bust" considering he was the #2 overall pick. We were expecting Barry Sanders, or at least Tony Dorsett. You know, All-Pro RB for nearly a decade.

Instead, yeah- he made some individual plays that were great, but he never ever approached the hype.

What’s your standard for a bust? Reggie was the prototype for an entirely new offensive weapon that spawned Sproles, and now Kamara. For what he was, he was incredibly productive. Perhaps underwhelming but far from a bust.

Reggie Bush was instrumental to the Saints winning a super bowl and for their franchise becoming incredibly popular, but based on his draft selection and the hype that surrounded him, he was kind of a bust.

Agree with KennerKarl... Reggie had the ability to completely change a game with one play and very often did. The Playoff game against the Cards jumps immediately to mind.

Donte' Stallworth wasn't worth a first round pick. He is probably considered a bust, but per the topic, I never thought he would be great and don't hold anything against any Saints wide receiver pre-Drew. If a WR can't thrive in this offense now, it's probably their own fault.
The Saints could have taken Ed Reed, who fell to 24th, in that 2002 draft. Yikes.

Martez Wilson
I was enamored with martezilla as well. He had like 1 or 2 good plays in preseason at least.

1st round pick Shawn Knight from BYU

Troy Davis. Was a Heisman runner-up and I thought he would be a good running back. But nadda.
After years of being a fan, I’ve learned to temper expectations of people we draft. Last guy we drafted I thought could contribute who turned out to be a flop was Boston Scott.

What about Robert Meachem? Would y’all consider him a bust?

How tf are people saying reggie was a bust? I get the argument of a player can be a bust if he didn’t live up to expectations, but he played a vital role in our Super Bowl run. No Reggie no Super Bowl.

Someone earlier said Ricky Williams and I couldn't disagree more with that. Ricky was the victim of an idiotic Coach. Remember the preseason game where he had something like 43 carries? His 3rd and last season with us was pretty dang good.

Wesley Carroll. He had the pedigree but didn’t do a damn thing in the pros.
Vaughan Dunbar was another one.
