Make sure that the key switch is turning all of the way and cutting the machine completely off. Even though it allows you to pull the key out if the switch is still partially on then it may be drawing energy from the battery.

No, I'm not leaving the key on.

I have an older Scotts/John Deere and the same thing kept happening.. it was from actually just leaving the key IN the ignition even if it was turned to off, not sure why.. but once I started taking the key out it stopped happening.

I bet if the OP put all four of those batteries on a charger they would be fine after an hour.

which is exactly what the PTO's have in them and they will ground to short causing amp draw.

Or the switch.

Would start at the key switch work my way down the wiring harness.
Sometimes those buggers can lose some juice they are just cheap electrical components.
They get corroded and they go bad.
Then work my way through the wiring harness to each electrical item.

I agree the PTO could be the issue also.

Older riders use to have a diodes right before the starter. The unit went to three shops and I just took my time finding it. Electrical gremlins sometimes are not obvious sometimes they are.

OP.
Fully charge battery. Only put negative cable on. Tap positive to the battery pole. It should spark a little if there's an amp draw. Start unplugging each component one by one while doing the tap trick until there is no longer a spark. Now you've found the component that's causing the draw. Not everyone has an amp meter so this is a safe way to test.

2014 Bad Boy 54" w/ Kohler engine.

I think that you've already addressed the issue, though.

That is a good way also.
Rather him find the cause than throw money at parts.
If he has an electrical PTO that not cheap.

Battery Aids now that is funny.
Almost as funny as when a unit that came in had a stuck solenoid. The owner told me her unit was haunted.
