I would take in d'eriq king as he appears to be more of an athlete if QB doesnt work out.
Gatewood is an athlete too and is much bigger than King.
Also, coaches don’t always make the correct choice during QB position battles. Burrow was a backup at Ohio State after all, and may never have started had he stayed there.
ETA: I’m not saying Gatewood is any good or saying he’s not. Just that I trust the coaches to do what’s best for LSU, whether that’s Brennan or a transfer.
If they do bring in a transfer, maybe Brennan looks at Tulane having seen what McMillan has done there.

If this is true then Malzahn should be fired. Nix against Florida and LSU was hot garbage.
If it is not true then I wouldn’t want Gatewood anywhere near LSU. If he couldn’t beat out Nix then how bad is he?

Agreed. Nix was a shoe in being a legacy at Auburn.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant his football knowledge/on-the-field decision making is pretty questionable. He makes some bone head plays from time to time. Hope that makes sense

That can be coached but if he is throwing up stats of 63% completion rating and 50 tds and 6 int i would love to see him with unquestionable football knowledge

King is fun to watch in the sense that he can tuck and go, and will sling it with reckless abandon. On the other hand, he's terribly inaccurate. He would need some refinement. On paper, his completion percentage isn't terrible but I've watched him play many times.
I don't know much about Gatewood.
I'm not against bringing in a transfer, but they better be damn good.
