Brady/Brees/Unitas/Montana - Burrow comes from that school of thought on how to play the QB position.

This exactly! I have to find the tweet where one of the OSU players said "LSU just got the next Tom Brady!" When he's compared to TB12, people aren't talking about his success, but his playing style. Brains,Accuracy, and grit are are his elite traits, including athleticism.

I've heard Tom Brady thrown around on this board many times but I hate comparing college players to all-time greats, especially a guy who is arguably the greatest NFL player ever. What are some more realistic pro comparisons for Burrow?

I hate when you make a comparison and this is what people think you mean.

When people make a comparison they are not saying that something is exactly like another thing or that the person in question is going to replicate the person they're being compared to. We're talking about who they remind you of. That they share characteristics. Borrow could end up being a complete failure but that doesn't discount the similarities and attributes the two players share.

But no, I don't think Brady is that great of a comparison to Burrow. Brady has zero mobility and would never want to take the hits that burrow seems to relish.

A better comparison would be Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees.

Rogers because they have a similar running style but they're always keeping in their eyes downfield to pass first. They're both pass first dual-threat quarterbacks.

Drew Brees because they both have great pocket awareness and move their feet very well in the pocket to avoid pressure, they both have phenomenal accuracy and anticipation and they're both the kind of leaders that anybody would run through a brick wall for.

It was Mike Weber, and I believe he said that in 2017... "Joe Burrow is the next Tom Brady and y'all don't even know it"

ive heard several nfl guys compare him to Tony Romo. Thats not a bad comp

but honestly, his throwing motion, stature, and pocket movement are tom brady made over. thats why everyone is using that comparison.

if we're going to use Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, etc. i have no problem sticking with the Brady comparisons.

Everytime he escapes the pocket and runs for a first down I'm reminded of the Saints trying to corral Steve Young back in the day.

his pocket presence, ability to read a defense, accuracy, clutchness, mental toughness, appearance in a uniform, and throwing motion remind me of a more mobile and athletic Tom Brady. That's who he reminds me of, but whether he will have a successful NFL career or not remains to be seen.

His game is very similar to Tom Brady’s. I don’t know why people get their panties in a wad when people say that. It doesn’t mean he’s going to win 6 Super Bowls or whatever and be the next GOAT; it’s just the player who he most resembles in style and ability.

Well 1st you would not compare JB now to Brady or Brees now! The comparison would be their college days to His college days and in that case he compares very well! He is just as athletic (maybe more) and his Football knowledge is equal to or better then theirs in college! He has proven to be very dedicated to learning and getting better which is a characteristic of both Bress and Brady. In the right system the sky is the limit for JB.
