It is possible to teach your children to be moral and upright

It's also possible for parents to teach morals and the kids say "never mind"

Very rarely is is taught correctly and the kids ignore it. It happens, but it's rare.

What is more common is that its taught incorrectly. "Don't do that" is not teaching it correctly.

I recently had this discussion with my oldest daughter. I had the normal talk with her, but I explained to her the beauty of being chaste at marriage like her mom and confessed my failure to her. I told her that some guy is going to look into her eyes and say "If you love me ..." and she should spin it right back to him - If he loves her, he will wait. He will respect her chastity. If not, he isn't who God preordained for her.

Dating is a precursor to marriage. Its not being taught that way. Serial dating is an epidemic. My daughters friends have had multiple boyfriends since middle school. They've told guys they loved them and they have no idea what love is. Worse yet, the church is ignoring the warnings of Genesis 6 and marrying believers to non-believers. These are mostly Christian young women that have met a guy that doesn't believe and thinks they can change him. If more pastors would say - you know what, I can't marry a believer to a non-believer, a lot of this would stop.
