Dragon Ball Z Abridged is over

This is a very niche Youtube channel/show but for those that watched it I’m sure you’re just as disappointed as me.
They announced yesterday they are ending the series. No more movies and not going to do the Buu saga. Just couldn’t find the passion for the project anymore. I’m always gonna appreciate that it’s the only version of Dragon Ball that made Cell a better character than Freiza.

Was an awesome, shame we don't get to them do the Bojack movie or anything from Buu

damn shame
they took characters and arcs I hated or didnt care for and turned them all into something extremely entertaining/redeeming
Krillin, Popo, Napa, Super Kami Guru to name a few
I am sure their Buu arc would have been glorious but ending it after Cell is a fine ending point and I appreciate what they created

They had a hard time getting everyone on board to do the last few episodes of the Cell saga. I'm not finding this all that surprising. Sad, but not surprising.

Sad to hear this.
When I need a laugh, this is one of my go to's.

I mean when I think Vegeta I hear the DBZA voice not the current.
ETA Also fears of copyright claims also influenced their decision. Sad but understandable

DBZ Abridged is the Dragon Ball Z anime redubbed/revoiced by some youtubers/fans that wanted to maintain the overall plot of DBZ but while turning it into a comedy and drastically cutting down on all the filler.
Sometimes the comedy comes from pointing out inconsistencies with the show or while addressing things that may have went over your head while watching as a kid.
It is a fun watch for anyone who was a fan of the original show. They try to maintain the nature of every character while adding the humor and do a fantastic job at it. Great way to rewatch something you loved while making it fresh.
all the episodes are posted on youtube and their own website if you wanted to check them out.
Team Four Star is the name of the Channel and DBZ Abridged is the name of the show. Be careful however in that I think they did some Kai stuff too.

Kai stuff too.
DBZ Kai Abridged slams entire story arcs into a single episode. Some of the funniest shite in those.
"JK not dead."

Bums me out but Cell Saga was a natural place to end it.
There's plenty of episodes of material and it's super rewatchable

So they don’t spend entire episodes powering up?

no but they will joke about it from time to time lol

DBZA was such a great youtube series. I will certainly miss it. I imagine with Super becoming a thing it became increasingly more difficult to continue the series.

Toei animation made their passion project a living hell. Every few months, Toei would threaten them with copyright strikes, even though it is clearly a parody and falls under fair use. It took them a long time to make an episode, and with Japan always threatening to make their efforts done in vain, I can understand why they quit. I also think that DBZ abridged is better than OG DBZ in many, many respects.
