I don’t understand but when a Republican LT Governor writes an op ad attacking the sitting governors response then you know it’s bad?

In Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson definitely deserves to be on the best response list.

Ordering supplies ahead of time, building facilities before infections peak, establishing public private partnerships and model testing methods, without closing the state down for business, all while not sending the state into fiscal peril.

Its hard to find any governor who has done as good a job, let alone better.

It is fricking absurd to continue to suggest that effective measures to contain this epidemic are nothing but a gross abuse of civil liberties. Hell, I guess I could argue that a highway speed limit less than 100mph is an abuse of my civil liberties. If there weren’t so many dumbsses wandering our streets, there would be no need for government edicts regrading thisvirus.

Jesus. Too much retarded to unpack

I think some people here believe we are all going to peak at same time and everyone gets to go back to work and our lives return to normal. Texas is just on a different timeline is all. I pray that those Texas numbers remain low and the same goes with California but that might be just wishful thinking. Time will tell.

That’s the mayors job. You guys don’t seem to understand the roles of federal, state, and local government.

He’s helped with resources and allowed local governments to issue policies that fit their situation.

Exactly the way it should be handled

Man you are coming up with some zingers to cover your arse...and by the way there was an explanation in my first post about why Abbott has done good. Simple numbers. 2nd Highest Population : 15th in Deaths. Pretty damn good with the size of cities we have.

I appreciate your perspective but I disagree. I think Kemp left it up to the local authorities to manage it depending on their local situations. Obviously rural counties might be managed differently than Fulton Co. for instance.

And for what it's worth, I voted but did not vote for Kemp.

Texas is fixing to explode. There are a number of things the Governor needed to do. I understand the libertarian angle by allowing local government to decide what they want but that’s not the way to handle this. It’s leading from behind against an enemy that’s on the march in Texas. Respectfully, 1200 tests simply isn’t enough by the state.

You do now the mayors of all the large cities are the ones that have stepped up....
So hard to say the gov is doing a good job if the mayor are the ones responsible for the low numbers.......which somehow you use as metric for argument that the gov is doing well

i guess if it us the mayors job then yes....
our texas gov is doing a great job ignoring any the cities

Meh.

I'm disappointed that he caved.

Don't know what else he "should be doing" right now though. People here are doing a pretty good job of taking it seriously and hygiene and social distancing without having to be told to do so by the government.

Even in my little town it's been pretty much dead for a week.

I have no problem at all with the way our default governor is handling it.

...and I am not a fan.

I say default because we had three Republican candidates. The other two Randy Boyd and Diane Black succeeded in taking each other out in the primary. They split the vote between them.

Either one running without the other in the race trounces Bill Lee.
