What’s the board’s opinion of Bone Tomahawk?

Just saw it and was amazed by how well it worked as a Western, horror and comedy. Terrific performances all around. And THAT scene was brutal.

THAT scene was brutal. I really enjoyed the movie.

Tell my wife "goodbye" and I'll tell yours "hello."

One of the best westerns in the last 10 years. And one of the best horror movies in that time span as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed Bone Tomahawk. Everyone in it is clearly having a great time with the material, and Matthew Fox's character is straight cold-blooded.

It is one that I thoroughly enjoyed but have no desire to ever watch again.

Watched it a couple of years back after reading about it on this board, great movie.

I think it won this board's award for most brutal movie death. People who hadn't seen it doubted that designation. Then, a few posters returned to the thread after seeing it, and agreed wholeheartedly.

That scene made me light headed and I’ve been weird about blood and violent scenes ever since. I guess I wasn’t expecting it and it really fricked with my brain.

I enjoyed it but it was ROUGH

I'd heard that there was "a scene" that would shake most people. Not sure if knowing that caused it or if it was natural buildup. But I was on edge the for 2/3rds of the movie and when THAT scene happened, I knew that was it.
Fantastic movie, though. My dad hates horror movies but loves westerns. I recommended it to him and he thought the movie was great, but now questions his parenting for me recommending it.

One of the most brutal movies I've ever seen.

Same. I watched it not knowing a thing about it. Enjoyed it far more than I expected.

I went in just knowing it was a Western horror. I was amazed by how funny it was at times and just how good it was as a Western before it hit its horror stride

It's really not a movie I would ever enjoy watching seriously, but I treated it as a campy comedy and enjoyed it. Especially the big scene.
