This is an understatement. Nobody in BR gives a shite about live music anymore. Hell, they don’t even go out to see cover bands anymore. Denham Springs has a more active live music scene than Baton Rouge.

Which is sad because the talent is there. Heck, my crappy little local band struggled to draw crowds, even when playing covers, before our singer hit it big on American Idol. Another friend’s band can barely get 30 people to come see him in his home town of BR, but tours all over the globe, including Japan. Most of my friends get way bigger crowds playing towns in Mississippi and Texas they’ve never been to than where they’re actually from.
