I don’t understand this correlation of education and liberalism
Grant it, I’m probably a little older than your kids but I have a couple of degrees and I’ve voted Republican in the presidential elections since 2008
In some ways I’m liberal but I know enough to know the country should not be run in a liberal manner

I think it's where you matriculate. My children went to parochial schools and private college much like myself. The difference is that a Jesuit/Catholic education today is not what it was when I was younger.
I've always been conservative. They seem to be swayed more by peers and professors than I was.

At that level you're getting pounded 24/7 that all those conservative/Republican ideas are dumb and lack academic rigor and whatever else. You don't get to hear well thought out counterarguments. Not hard to imagine falling in line after a while.
