The LSO (Paddles) was able to get away from the accident. Sadly, the pilot and the sailor in the foreground plus two others did not.

This was back in the day when clubs put a lot of time and effort into building their truck floats...



Today, most just staple cheap cardboard cutouts on to the side the float...
