SCAG Liberty Z (update on pg. 1)

Update (09/13/2021):
After a long MONTH...My mower was finally delivered. Considering Hurricane Ida contributed to the delay, I couldn't be upset. Waiting for a lawn mower pales in comparison to the struggles some of you are facing.
This will be a brief "review" as I didn't get to pick it up until after work and only got to cut the very tips of the grass off the front yard due to cutting only a couple days ago.
In summary, it's an awesome machine. The steering is very responsive, all the controls are intuitive and its FAST. At least compared to my old POS ZTR
I will post a full review after the first real cut, which should be a good one after we get all this rain.
Pics further down... It won't show up automatically in this post for some reason.

Ordered a Scag Liberty Z today (48" w/ Kawasaki).
Delivery is estimated to be around 2 weeks.
Been dealing with a POS Craftsman ZTR for two years I acquired during home purchase. Can't wait to put it at the road (or burn it

I bought a freedom z in March 2020. It has a 52” deck with a 24 hp kohler. Only have around 90 hours on her so far, but no issues yet. Knock on wood. I ran a hustler mini z for 12 years before this scag, Time will tell the tale.

I researched a ton and kept coming back to the Scag.
To be honest as long as:
-The muffler doesn't fall off multiple times.
-I don't have to use a piece of chain to keep the deck somewhat level.
-I don't have to replace the PTO clutch/switch, ignition and multiple spark plugs.
-The deck doesn't bend so much it stops the blades.
(All which occurred with the craftsman)
I'll call it a win.

I was there with you in 2012. Scat was clear winner, but didn’t have a dealer within 100 or so miles, about 3 years ago they opened one not 6 miles from me. If I wasn’t 14k into a kubota diesel that’s only worth maybe $5k on a good day now I’d jump. You’ll be happy. Congrats.

Thanks. I'll write up a review with pics when it comes in. I know "what ZTR to buy" threads are always popping. Maybe I can help a few folks.

I’d love to know how it compares to a Gravely HD. I have one and love it. They are a forum favorite for larger yards. Hell, lawnsite loves them for starting companies.

Out the door, a little over $5k.
That was with adding the lawn roller, which hasn't come in yet.

I was looking at a 60" Liberty Z new machine. I found a Patriot 52" with a Kawasaki and 110 hrs on it for sale for $4500. I've had it a little over 2 years and now have around 400 hrs on it. I change the blades every Spring just because I don't feel like sharpening the old ones. One day I'll take a stack of them to the shop and sharpen them up, but for now the replacements aren't that bad.
I've only had 1 problem and that was the pto switch. Apparently every zero turn uses the same pto switch regardless of brand. It was very easy to change out though and I got a replacement at Amazon. I cut around 9 acres with mine and it makes fairly quick work as long as it doesn't get too high. It's not real grass but weed grass.
Good machine.
