No one is telling anyone to "not be offended." Whether one is offended or not is WHOLLY subjective. What the people in this thread are saying is we constantly have white people writing hyperbolic stories about just how offensive some team mascot is even though there does not appear to be some large amount of care or even consideration by the people who, ostensibly, should be the ones offended.

6 aggrieved Native American decedents on twitter probably isn't representative of a population of probably a few million people...the overwhelming majority of whom have far more important daily concerns to give even the slightest of shits about whether or not a baseball team in Atlanta should be called the Braves.

There is no irony, at all. We can't be racist just because someone decides that we are. If there are good intentions, and someone wants to be offended, anyway, then that's on them. But the biggest thing is that the local tribes have been all on board with the Braves and how they represent them.
