18 inch dishwasher pro and con

My kitchen is relatively small so we dont have room for a 24 inch dishwasher. Would an 18 incher be worth our time to install it? Ive never seen an 18" dw in a home. Im just wondering if there are hidden cons to these other than size.

I put one in one of my rental units several years ago. Worked okay for one person but it was more expensive than a comparable 24-inch unit. I think at the time Sears was the only place to get it.

It's a specialty item, possibly special order, so you won't see them on sale.

no, but some parts are more expensive due to rarity, but no harder to work on.
I saw a 16" the other day, I had neve seen one that small, I thought 18" was the smallest. 18's are very common in the French Quarter.

I know the one I have in my apartment is not full size, so I would guess its 18". It works well for my wife and I and yes it beats having to wash everything by hand.
