I’m not into fancy stuff; just seafood as it is. I’ve only been past Sandestin a few times. I’ve hit all my favorites in Destin and Miramar Beach. For reference, Dewey Destin Harbour side is a 10/10.

Stinky's Fish Camp, Shunk Gulley, Great Southern, Red Bar.

May be too fancy, but Citizen at Alys Beach is great. They have a raw bar.

Citizen at Alys Beach is the best "nice" place - you can get drinks at NEAT wine bar next door while waiting
George's is fine but IMO not worth the wait
Paradis was also good inbetween these too
Across the highway there is the Cuvee 30a and Amici which are good, but you have to drive there
Cowgirl Kitchen is okay
The rooftop bar/restaurant at Pearl is pretty good
People rave about the food options at Rosemary and personally I think there are too many people for these smaller restaurants and the waits are simply too long at all hours of the day with no reservations accepted. The restaurants aren't bad but the experience is annoying. Makes going out to eat a huge pain in the arse IMO

Old Florida Fish House
Or just pick up steamed seafood at Buddy’s or Goatfeathers and eat it at your rental house.

I've found this to be the best solution.
I was in Seaside last week and they have a new place called "Daytrader" that had a good bar and the menu looked good. We just had drinks but there were several seafood apps and entrees that looked good. South Pacific Tiki kind of place.
Also there is Shrimp Shack in Seaside but haven't eaten there.

get some fresh grouper or red snapper and cook it yourself.

This is why we stopped going. The last year we went was 2018 and we ended up either cooking or getting takeout every night. We liked the pizza at the cowgirl kitchen and seafood at goatfeathers when ordering to go

We have a rental in Old Seagrove over the 4th, will check out Daytraders. Eaten the steamed shrimp many times at Shrimp Shack…they have a good lobster roll as well.

We’ve enjoyed the Bay at Santa Rosa Beach the past few years.

Friend,
The best pizza on the Gulf Coast is made at Grimaldi's in Miramar Beach. Yes, it is a chain. And yes, it is better than any pizza in all of Louisiana by a large margin. Beware that every afternoon around 2:30 they stoke their ovens. This process takes about an hour to complete, but it ensures excellence and consistency.
Yes, you are at the beach, so you think you should eat seafood. But no seafood in that area is exceptional. The pizza at Grimaldi's, on the other hand, is.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

I concur with Stinky’s, but for a extremely casual, yet delicious seafood joint, go to Elmo’s…

Grayton Seafood is a nice option. Small, quaint, and with only a beer & wine menu, the food and service are good.
Granted, that was last year. Your mileage may vary. As will ours when we return this year.

Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar is my spot. Eat upstairs on the deck with the huge windows open and a great view of the gulf.

the grouper sandwich at the Seagrove Market was always our go to, but not haven't been in a few years.
Buying fresh seafood and cooking it at the house was always the best bet to avoid the crowds and have a nice leisurely evening

This is what we do a lot of the nights. We love it and always vow that we will do it more once we get home.....never happens.
