Afterpay for….food?

The other night we ordered some food online from a neighborhood restaurant for pickup. When we went to pay, one of the payment options was AfterPay. I’ve never seen this before and thought it was really strange. The options at checkout were essentially pay the roughly $32 with credit/debit, or four monthly payments of roughly $8 with AfterPay.
Who orders takeout and needs to pay in monthly installments? Is this becoming a normal thing at restaurants these days and I just haven’t noticed?

Financially illiterate people are using afterpay for everything now.
If you have CC debt you shouldn't be getting Papa John's pizza at all, much less delivered and then financing the payments for it. But this exact sceranio is happening everyday in this country.

A lot of these online processors offer those options by default. The vendor can turn that option off, but most may not even know that it's there as long as they keep getting their deposits from the processor.

All kinds of online companies seem to be doing this. Was buying animal food the other day and they asked me if I wanted to pay in four payments. I looked to see if they added a percentage to it but they didn't

The democrats know that if they put things on credit sooner or later the democrats if in power will forgive the debt or the interest or whatever. Just like student loans. But real people never let others pay their way.
