Has anyone tried this? I ran out of Teets sausage and want to make a jambalaya this weekend. This and Savoies is all I can get in Nashville

I've never heard of it or seen it in markets in the N.O. area. I do see Savoie all the time in both mild smoked sausage and their andouille style. I'll use their andouille in a pinch or if I'm making a huge batch of gumbo for a big gathering, but prefer to use Bailey's from Laplace if making it for myself or smaller parties.
Real andouille is up in the $6-$8 a lb. range now.

I've never had it since we can get the real stuff here but looking it up it looks decent. I usually get their chicken sausage and it's always top notch, especially the bacon and pineapple.
I was curious how they made it so I looked up the ingredients and it is pork:

Not familiar with Aidells but it's sold here in stores in Katy.
Savoies (only tried 1X/2X) was underwhelming. Whatever you can find it's probably going to be a big drop off from Teets.
Can you find Conecuh's in Nashville? It's toward the better-end of most mass marketed sausage.

Yes, Publix carries it.

I can get Conecuh. I’ve just found it to be greasy and has a strong taste. I do like it grilled though

I'm not familiar with Aidells. I'd used Savoie's andouille. I bought some Conecuh once and didn't care for it.

It's decent. I buy it when i'm in California on business trips.

One is made in California and one is made in Opelousas. I shouldn’t have to say much more.
Although the Aidells products aren’t terrible, I’m not buying andouille form California. Savoie’s is fine for a jam.

The problem is that for a lot of us in other areas of the country, Aidells is the only thing available when you’re in a jam.
