All-Clad or American Kitchen

Looking to slowly buy a few pieces and build into a set that works for me. Right now I'm just looking to get a 10" sauté pan and a 3 quart sauce pan in stainless steel. What brand do you think would be best to build out a set? They both seem to be equal in price. Will these last forever if you take care of them?

Overpriced stainless cookware is dumb. It's stainless, go buy it at Costco or Sam's.

I have a couple of All Clad pieces that I use the hell out of. There are so many good options though, I wouldn't stick to just one line.

It is certainly not just stainless. Stainless isn't a great heat conductor, so there are layers of aluminum and sometimes copper depending on the price.
Edit to add: HomeGoods always has discounted All-Clad pans. I don't think they are top of the line models, but they seem very nice for 50% off.

AllClad is good stuff, no doubt. I have several pieces.
However, over the last several years, I've been buying kitchen stuff from restaurant supply stores. Hilton's on Cameron St in Lafayette is my closest example. Their pots 'n pans are pretty durable, and work really well.

Between those two, All Clad no question.
All of my stainless pots and pans are All Clad and I love them.

I would just buy a Tramontina try-ply set if you don't have the money for Allclad. They are very close to AllClad in performance and a lot cheaper. This is particularly so for sauce pans. I have a couple All-Clad 5 ply skillets and Tramontina everything else supplemented with some LeCreuset cast iron stuff.

Check out Demeyere. I have a number of Demeyere pieces and a number of All-Clad pieces. I’ve sold a lot of the all-clad as I’ve bought more Demeyere.
Zwilling online currently has the 10” Saute and 3.5 qt sauce pan in the Demeyere Industry 5 line for $99.Both are very good pieces for the money. No rivets to clean around, no terrible all-clad handles.

AllClad. There is a world of difference between cheap stainless and the higher tier stuff.
