Anyone know where I can get it locally in the Metro New Orleans area or Baton Rouge. I tried Bergeron's already in Mandeville, so no luck there. They make it for a customer, but he supplies the alligator meat and then just picks it up.

TIA

call Bergerons and ask for Kevin, he might be able to tell you where to get the gator meat and he'll make the jerky for you. He does my deer jerky for me.

There is a Jerky outlet across from the Bass pro in Denham Springs. They may have it.

I talked to brad at bergeron's and he told the alligator jerky guy that I am interested in buying some. He will call me if he will sell some.

I saw that thread. Anyone have the name and number? I would hate to drive there and not have any.

Called and they told me it has to be kept cold...am I missing something here? I thought the jerky was dehydrated, so why would it have to be kept cold?

You can find it in the french market not sure the name of the vendor.

I went to the beef jerky place across from Bass Pro this weekend. Freaking awesome, maybe my 3rd best beef jerky buying experience. Get them to make you up a bag instead of going with the pre packaged. The crawfish jerky was my favorite out of the $50 of jerky I bought. Will be back.

Anyone buy jerky from Emmett's in Harahan?

Thanks. Just not sure why the girl told me it has to be kept cold. All jerky I have bought is vacuum sealed and does not have to be kept cold.

Maybe thiers is like tasso, just smoked. We made gator jerky as kids and we kept it in a jar for a long time. Lots of water in it. You start off with three feet and end up with a foot.
