Spending a couple of weeks there for work. If possible, I would prefer to not eat at any chain restaurants.

Some decent places in the mall on Taylor road. I’ll think of some others and update.

For goo d seafood go to The Harbor restaurant. Their seafood tastes like many good restaurants that are in the New Orleans area. They get their French bread from the bakery that makes the best French bread in New Orleans. I can't think of the name of the bakery in New Orleans. The Harbor is located on Atlanta Highway. O ne thing that I remember is that you go underneath the interstate on your way to the Harbor. Montgomery has some pretty good Chinese restaurants that are on Atlanta Highway. Atlanta highway has many good restaurants. That whole stretch is yours to explore. I hope that you find some place that you like because other than The Harbor, I really can't think of anyplace that I really enjoyed. Be thankful that you'll be in Montgomery. The people in that city are really nice.

You must try hamburger king on Decatur for lunch. Best cheeseburger anywhere. Not a chain. Not open for dinner.
Derks is a very good meat and three.

If you like Korean, you should go that route. Several there due to Hyundai. I haven’t stopped at one there (I’ve been to one down the road toward Atlanta by the Kia plant), but they are all said to be legit. Look em up on Yelp.
