Anyone a fan of better than bouillon products?

I'm a big fan of their chicken base. I think I like it my gumbo better than my homemade stock. Just recently tried their lobster base in a shrimp bisque that came out really good. I've also used their ham base in my red beans. The beef base is two sweet. My only issue is they are really salty so you have to be careful using any seasoning that contains salt.

Ive only used their chicken base and loved it. I think it is a great shortcut to depth of flavor. Not as good as homemade stock, but good enough for me when I am in a hurry. I bet their lobster base would be good.
And I concur on the saltiness, you have to be real careful. I generally don't use any creole seasoning when I use it, stick with the powders so I can avoid additional salt.

A spoonful of their chicken base goes in every pot of rice I make.

I've been using them for years. Much better and actually less salty than a Bouillion cube.
My daughter is making homemade Raman now. Basically water, BTB chicken and angel hair pasta. She will eat on it for three days.

I'm a big fan and have been using it since it came out. America's Test Kitchen found it to be better than canned chicken broth.

Yes, whole heartedly since getting my first jar about 13 years ago. As to your complaint about salt content look at any other boullion products available in the market. The list of ingredients goes from top to bottom with the first being the primary part of the product. SALT is the very first one of about every one of them.

Has anyone tried the vegetable base? I've never used it, the mushroom, or the clam.

They make a reduced sodium chicken and beef base

I have been tempted but not jumped on it in some cases for a good cause. When making a corn rich soup I will throw in the fresh cobs into a pot and boil/simmer or a few hours and get a very rich product as a result. Their is one ( that I want to try just to see how it works out. It is a crab stock web site on my old computer that I need to search for to seek the company out. It is a bit pricey at @ 20 bucks, but I think in a seafood gumbo or courtboullion it has a very good possibility for success.

Is this the product calandros keeps in the fish case? If so the crawfish base is amazing.

I don't think it is the same product, but who knows if it requires a different storage method.

I use them all. Chicken, ham, beef, vegetable, and lobster. Each one is excellent, in my opinion.
ETA: I guess I haven't used them all, since someone listed a couple I haven't seen.
The vegetable base I've used in homemade veggie beef soup. Despite lots of fresh vegetables, it needed some depth of flavor, and the BTB did the trick.

I use that and the no chicken base since I don't eat meat. Both excellent. Accidentally bought the mushroom once but haven't used it yet.

Pretty much any grocery store sells it. It's in a jar next to the cartons of stock. I've seen it at Walmart, Publix, kroger etc

Interesting. I'll be on the lookout for it next time I'm at the market.

Most places. I always get mine at Rouses. About eye level or a little above in the stock section.

You've just never noticed it because it is small and usually on the top shelf. I love it.
