Anyone here try boiling peanuts with non-traditional flavors?

I boiled peanuts for the first time this past weekend. I just used crab boil salt and red pepper. They came out really good though they could have cooked a little longer. I did them about four hours I think. How long do most of you simmer them for?
I plan on doing some more this weekend but was thinking of doing spicy curry version and a caribbean jerk version. Even thought of trying a dill pickle version. I live in Georgia so they are big here but all I have seen is regular and cajun. I have never even heard of boiled peanuts until moving here a little over 20 years ago. I assume they have gotten pretty popular in Louisiana now. What all flavors have you guys experimented with?

An old man would use cane syrup and beer for a peanut boil.
When finished, it was like candy.
He passed and I don’t have the recipe. I think he drank most of the beer!
I was outside of minden 10 or so years ago for work - worked our way to Arcadia and purchased the best boiled peanuts - don’t know what those Baptist boiled them in but oh my. I think it had ginger and soy in there.

Check out Alabama Peanut Co. here in Birmingham. New flavors posted every day that should give you some ideas.

If you have a pressure cooker or Instapot, you can save a ton of time and the peanuts still have a bit of crunch to them. My wife doesn't like it when they get mushy. I don't really follow a recipe other than the amount of salt proportionate to the amount of peanuts. I've done cajun/spicy before, and played around with different seasonings. If you can find it, Everglades seasoning goes really well with them. But it has MSG in it, so steer clear if you have issues with that. They also have a heat version that is garlic and onion with red pepper without MSG.

I do not have a pressure cooker but I think I am going to try them in a crockpot.

Smoked Pork!
Treat the water like you're cooking greens, beans, or BEP.
I don't care much for boiled peanuts but, the best ones I ever had, were cooked with smoked pig tails. I couldn't stop eating them!
