lots of reviews & opinions on TD

You're gonna need reservations since it's a very popular dining location on the weekends (Fri ~ Sun). I would call ASAP and book now. Solid groceries and the back patio deck overlooking the river is nice, weather permitting. I've probably eaten there a dozen times and never had a bad meal or experience.

The rural South Louisiana setting is the complete opposite of eating at restaurants located downtown or on 3 lane city streets bracketed by red lights and horrible traffic. The Seafood Tower and the Crab Stack are what I normally order

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but the crab stack they served me was so salty that it was impossible to eat.
It was as if they poured an extra half cup of salt into the etouffee right before they served it.

Both appetizers that I tried, the fried mushrooms and the crawfish cornbread, were amazing.

Every time I see this restaurant mentioned, I think 2 girls and a cup and get grossed out.

Depends on the person. I love the atmosphere of the place, but the food is hit and miss. More miss for me, I find the menu has a lot of heavy items. There fried food has never been good. Last time we visited those who got the buffet said it was dry and warm at best.

Love the Sunday Brunch.

I always load up on Pork stew over grits.

Weather permitting, try and get an outside table.

Been a few times and have always enjoyed it....was just thinking of planning a trip there.

Only downside....trying to find somewhere to park.

That's Bayou Teche, not a river.

Go for Sunday Brunch and make sure you don't have afternoon plans. You are going to want a nap, but it's worth it.

Praline chicken and waffles.

I'm glad someone else sees through the smoke and mirrors.

I've seen better drainage ditches in the quad......

Never been, but I did not realize they had a buffet. What kind of food items do they serve on the buffet?

Went a few Sundays ago for Brunch. Seemed like typical buffet results. Wasnt bad, food was warm at best. Was good enough for me and the wife to say we would go back for the regular menu to try it again then make our decision on this place. Not sure we would make a trip out there for the brunch buffet again

After seeing this post, we decided to make the drive from BR and give it a try this evening. Had the Strawberry Spinach Salad, Crab Tower 2.0 and the Seafood Fettuccine, both entrees were very good.

It's OK. Decent food but yes, hit and miss. I grew up a block away and parking sucks. My parents should charge for parking.
