Arabic vs Persian vs Greek food

Which is your favorite? I know many restaurants in La refer to themselves as Greek/Lebanese(not sure why as I do not notice this much in other parts of the country) and though the cuisines do share some dishes they are distinctly different cuisines. The same is true of Persian and Arabic cuisines. I find Persian food to be much more complex than Arab food and they tend to use much more exotic and expensive ingredients. I do not hear Persian food discussed much on this board . Are there many good Persian restaurants in La?

What exactly do you mean by "Persian" food?

Iranian food. Lots of rice dishes, stews made with fresh herbs, grilled meats, yogurt marinades etc. They use ingedients like dried lime, preserved lemon, lots of saffron, pomegranate, etc.

I've only had Persian a couple of times in Washington DC and in San Francisco. I purchased this book and agree that their cuisine is pretty complex with some hard to find ingredients. It's out of my league as far as cooking.
Food of Life Persian Cuisine
I have had Syrian friends invite me to dinner where they served Arabian gulf food and it was outstanding. Some of the things they had that you don't see in Greek restaurants were:
muhammara
chicken kabsa
They also had more common Levantine dishes such as
waraq enob (stuffed grape leaves)
grilled and raw kebbeh (kibbie)
fatoush salad
baba ghanouj
goat and lamb kebabs
I picked up this Arabian Gulf cookbook but the recipes are fairly complex as well.
Cardamom and Lime
I don't know much about Middle Easter cuisine but what I have had of it has been really good.
I don't know of a Persian restaurant in Louisiana although there might be one in New Orleans

If they have no liquor at all they are Lebanese / Palestinian, I noticed that
. Most Lebabnese have beverage sales and almost all greeks do.
I really like the Palestinian. Israeli style.

I did a search for Baton Rouge and found Almaza. Have you been there?

I live in NOLA, but I went during my college days. I remember it being more standard mediterranean. Do they claim to be Iranian? Their website states: All American Food & Mediterranean Cusine.
I would think it's not great business to claim "Iranian cuisine" (they're not our best friends now) when few could identify the difference between Iranian and "mediterranean".
