It depends what I'm looking for. If it's a few bites of scrumptious gems, then I'm savoring the shrimp and coconut milk in Tom Yum. If I want to lose myself in an entire intimate bowl of bliss, Pho it is, beef on the side of course.

...and what the f is up with those canned straw mushrooms that places insist on adding into Tom Yum??? Those things only taste like the metalic can. Add some fresh shiitake or something...anything else.

Can I throw ramen into the ring? Pho and ramen are neck and neck to me.

I have yet to find a place that has good tom yum. Overall really, I just haven't been impressed with any Nola thai restaurants.

Anyone that's been to Kanomwan "telephone thai") in Houston would go with Tom Yum.

I've spent time in Bangkok and still have not come across a better recipe that Kanomwan.

The best tom yum might be better than Pho, but the average pho will always be better IMO.

I really enjoy a good bowl of pho. Perhaps I'm too pedestrian.
