I bought a fresh French bread from Albertsons and am trying to decide what to put on it with my leftover ham from Thanksgiving. I’m thinking of putting a little bbq sauce with some jalapeños (I love japs on sandwiches) but am undecided. Anyone have suggestions?

Our leftover hams get ground up in the food processor and turned into ham salad by blending it with mayo, mustard, and anything else we like. It can then be a snack with crackers, a sandwich for a lunch, or finger sandwiches for football game.

You're also a little roasted pork away from a Cubano.

I’d do Duke’s mayo, some melted American cheese, a few jalapeño slices, & plenty ham…

Mayo, brown mustard, pickles, plenty of provolone cheese.

Or salami, olive mix and provolone.

Or turkey and bologna for a delicious homemade cold cut combo.

Mayo and Cranberry sauce. Maybe some Swiss.

I've always enjoyed ham and potato salad sandwiches.

I like to make a breakfast sandwich, just toast your favorite bread, warm up the ham, add an over easy egg (or preference) and a slice of cheese.

If I am serving breakfast it works great with hot biscuits out the oven.

This except cheddar and do it on some fresh homemade biscuits.

Lots of good ideas. An even simpler sandwich is to butter the bread, add ham and swiss or provolone cheese, then bake it or zap it in the microwave until the cheese melts.

This is especially good on a bagel, with or without an added egg.

I decided to heat the ham up on a skillet with a little water. Then put mayo, grey poupon that we had leftover from a homemade salad dressing that my wife made, and pepper jack on the french bread. Toasted it for a couple of minutes then added a few purple onions, japs, and pieces of spinach. Then put 4 slices of ham over that. It was great!

My Paran was the same way but if he didn't have potato salad, he'd use potato chips instead. I must admit, I never, ever tried it myself.

Ham and Cheese Quesadilla, for breakfast with scrambled egg on the side. Save the bread for something else.

I take some local Evangeline maid bread with mayo. Simple effective. Brings back great memories growing up.

Ham, mayo and thinly sliced onion on bread of your choice. I got the tip from the Louisiana novelist James Lee Burke. It changed my life
