Baltimore Restaurant Recommendations

I’ve got a conference in Baltimore next month and was just charged with finding restaurants for 3 nights in or near downtown Baltimore. I’ve been to Baltimore a couple times but I’m not familiar with the dining scene.
We will have about 10 people, cost should be roughly $50/head sans drinks. The tricky part is the menus have to be eclectic enough that those who may have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten allergy, etc.) can have options.
I’d appreciate any recommendations from the board!

I had Cancer surgery and treatment at Hopkins in 2019-2021 and we ate at the same places quite often ..lunch favorite was DiPasquale's Italian Marketplace and Deli. Best seafood place and I could eat there every nite was Thames Street Oyster House..small place with great food. Nick's Inner Harbor was very good. LaTavola was another good seafood/Italian Rest for Dinner..Oceanaire Seafood was good as was McCormick & Schmick's Seafood and Steaks...the Emeril Lagasse of Baltimore is a lady name Cindy Wolf she's got Cindy Lou's Fish House which is excellent and Charleston which is a very nice high end restaurant .

Really appreciate the recs!
Some you mentioned are chains, which I’d like to avoid. But it’s not that they are bad places.

Phillips at inner harbor is the old and famous seafood restaurant. Lots of good seafood, but can't comment on the diversity of the menu.

I assume you'll be in the inner harbor/Harbor east area? Tagliata and Cinghale are solid choices, both Italian. The Choptank in Fell's Point is a popular seafood place but I've not eaten there. It's one of the Atlas group restaurants, so it's probably solid. There aren't any great restaurants in Baltimore, but two places that I'd go out of my way to visit are Hersh's and Pizza Verde. Both are very good neighborhood restaurants with a focus on wood fired pizza, but have other menu options that are also very good. They're not far from where you'll probably be and in your price range.

If in Fell's Point, Thames Street Oyster Bar or the restaurant in the Sagamore Pendry.

Yes 2 that I mentioned are so-called "Chains" but I bet you eat at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse from time to time....

Have you heard of a place called, Jimmy's Seafood? I've only read briefly about it but I'll be in Baltimore in June.. and as always, I made notes on your suggestions.

Won't work with the number of people you have, but my first foray with Ethiopian was here, and is was fantastic, so much flavor.

Thanks to all who provided recommendations! I put together a list of options largely based on the restaurants provided here. I don’t get the final call on where we go but there were some great choices!

One night needs to be Little Italy area. There are quite a few choices there and I usually recommend Sabatino’s.
Don’t skip the house salad.
I will 2nd Jimmy’s Seafood as an option. It’s about 10-15 minutes from the Inner Harbor area.
If I think of anything else, will let you know.

This won’t help your OP suggested needs, but if you can slip away for lunch, go to Faidley’s at Lexington Market for their softball shaped/sized crab cakes.

Lord. Baltimore is a ghetto if you wander. Do but stray. And last time we were there the Atlantic seafood was fake.

Can’t wait to crack a cold bud light with my fake seafood.

Yeah, I don't know if the Lexington market rec was a joke, but don't go there under any circumstances. If you're attending a conference, the area immediately around your hotel is probably fine, but just a few blocks into the city from the harbor it gets sketchy real quick.

I recommended it, and no, it isn’t a joke. Faidley’s is a must do IMO. Just don’t venture any further west of there.
