B&B Butchers in Houston - review with pics

So we went there last night and had a killer meal, here are some pictures. we ate at 5:30 so it was not all that crowded, the chef came by our table and was talking to us about their steaks, we must've talked for 30 minutes. They are only one of a handful of restaurants in Texas that actually serve legit Kobe beef from Kobe Japan.... the service was polished and very precise but not stuffy. Our waitress was a very cute Asian gal named Marlene....ask for her if you go. anyway, here are some pics of the menu for those interested in some things we ordered.
Here is the menu:
We got the "chef tommy's bacon" appetizer and it was everything I could ever imagine it tasting like....Took one photo with the flash and one without, hence the different coloration.
I ordered the 8 ounce wagyu which tasted excellent but it just look like any other state so I did not take a photo for obvious reasons. My wife ordered the wasabi encrusted tuna, here are some pics of the fish and not my wife.
We set on the rooftop terrace which had a very nice view of downtown, the weather was 75° with a slight breeze. It was absolutely perfect night to eat outside. Here are a few pics of the upstairs Terrace, still festive for Christmas.

$20 for a half dozen raw oysters?
I could eat some of that steak though.

Second food pic looks inconsistent and burnt.

I took it with the flash which can distort colors as I mentioned if you read the thread. Besides, it's thick cut bacon. A nice bark is a requirement!

went earlier this year and enjoyed it.
our tomahawk was a little bit more rare than i anticpated, though.

A5 Kobe was the grand prize on that menu....
Instant boner when I saw that but my wife (no pics) quickly killed my buzz when she saw the price.

Was that tomahawk done as Chateaubriand?

Nice! I've only gone there for lunch, but it was really good each time. I need to go back for dinner.

1. Legit review minus no pics of wife
2. My mouth started watering at "thick cut bacon"

I don't think I could justify $220 for 4oz of meat, but damn that tajima is appealing!

Looks like you ordered well. I went for my birthday and was not impressed at all, and have had friends with similar experiences to mine.

That's a whole lotta >>>>>> you put To emphasize your point, why don't you enlighten us by regaling the steak gurus on what justifies such a huge gap between those three steak houses.

I've been to Steak 48 twice and was underwhelmed both times. Ribeye was OK and the sides weren't memorable. Don't think I'll ever go back. Too many other top notch steak places to choose from.
I need to try STK. I've had the bread pudding and it was terrific.

I've cooked many steaks way better at the house than I had at B&B. Ordered the dry age bone in ribeye, medium rare. The temperature gradient was abominable -- the middle was medium, but half on either side was well done. Not tender at all. The crust was decent, but too much emphasis on the grill marks for presentation.
Steak 48's medium rare was Pittsburgh rare, not blowing my socks off either, but compared to B&B it was great.
B&B dry ages, Steak 48 wet ages, STQ has both.
One of the best desserts I've ever had.

They capped me at 20 Oz of the A5 last time. They lost my business.

Glenn Frey had a 22oz A5 filet once. It killed him.
