Plan to be in BR this weekend. Any recommendations for good BBQ?

Oak & Smoke truck, best in BR in my opinion. They'll be at Rally Cap Brewing Friday and Saturday.

You might as well be looking for authentic Italian food in Mexico. The BBQ scene in BR is horrible.

My favorite is Hannah Q, and even then it's not very good. You're best bet is to find out if Oak and Smoke is going to be anywhere. Never had them, but heard they weren't that bad.

So, for you who down voted my post, name 2 really good BBQ spots.

I like their brisket a lot. The fatty kind.

BRQ is overpriced but still decent. Has anyone tried that new BBQ place on Perkins next to the overpass?

Perhaps they downvoted your assertion that there are no good Authentic Italian restaurants in Mexico. Mexico City has some fantastic places, including but not limited to Quattro, which can punch with about any Italian place on the globe.

There’s plenty of BBQ in BR. Nothing amazing but plenty of decent places where you can have a good barbecue meal.
It may not be the authentic Texas Hill Country BBQ that you want or some other type of “good barbecue”, but there’s no reason to shite on what we have. If one of these type barbecue places would make it in BR, it would be here.

GONZO BBQ in Luling is excellent. Open only on Fridays at Lunch.

Not much good barbecue in Baton Rouge. Deep South barbecue in North Baton Rouge is actually the best I’ve found. Tip: I would not go there at night.
