Best Appetizers on Smoker

My friend is having a party at his house and asked me to bring some appetizers. I’d like to use my smoker for something different. Anyone have any suggestions? I could always do burnt ends or smoked queso, but willing to try a new recipe

If you can do burnt ends properly, your guests would probably love that way more than any other app can you come up with. Pork belly burnt ends are a great app as well. I've done boudin bites wrapped in bacon too. Freeze the links then cut into 1" bites. Wrap in bacon and throw them on a hot smoker.

Smoked meatloaf surprisingly may be the best thing I’ve ever cooked on my rec teq, maybe you could make sliders with it.
I’ve heard smoked cream cheese is legit, many recipes online.

Meat Church has several tailgate party ideas that you may want to consider. My favorite is pork candy. I typically use Malcolm’s recipe on How to BBQ Right. Both have great YouTube videos

Do a variety of sausage, cut up, toothpicks, things to dip in. My dad considers that an appetizer, I have to agree.

I can never argue with sausage. However, smoked shrimp wrapped in bacon is tasty. Also, a dip using smoked shrimp, trout or tuna would be good and make ahead. Smoked salmon dip is delicious also.

1lb boudin, 1 block cream cheese, 1 8 oz sour cream, 2 cups shredded pepperjack.
Take casing off boudin and mix all ingredients. Put on smoker at 225-250 for around 2 hours. Serve with crackers (we prefer ritz)

I use the cream cheese as a base and mix another cheese with it. I’ve only done cheddar and blue cheese but anything will work. I mix them together in a double boiler then load it into a large zip lock bag with one corner snipped off and use that as a piping bag to fill the peppers.

Chicken wings.
Since I’ve got my smoker I’ve been surprised that smoked wings are maybe my favorite smoked food.

Definitely more or a tossing sauce than a basting sauce.

Smoked Pickles - thick cut bacon strips in cut into 3 pieces - wrap a few gator pickles in bacon and hold with tooth pick. Smoke till bacon is crispy. I jar is generally good for a 1 lb of bacon.
Sounds weird, but just try it.
