Best Charcoal Starter Cubes

What do you use as a charcoal fire starter?
I haven't found one better than the Weber cubes. I can light one and put it in the charcoal or set it under my chimney, and it works great. When I set it under my chimney, the smoke starts coming up INSTANTLY, whereas with other starters, it takes a minute or two.
I did the math recently, and they are not the cheapest out there, but surprisingly, they are competitively priced - I picked up a couple of boxes for $4.99 each, so around 20 cents a cube. The biggest drawback is that they tend to leave wax firestarter crumbs everywhere. I avoid that by holding the container over the garbage can when I pop one out of the foil covered container.
Is there anything better out there?

Two wads of paper towels with a little bit of olive oil poured on to them. Bury into charcoal and light. Cheap and efficient.

This is what I have always done.

I find it's hard to beat the tumbleweeds.

I use a mapp torch and then use my blower to get the coals completely ignited. It never takes more than about three minutes before I am ready to put the coals in the smoker.

Paper towel or a couple of cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol.

I shred newspaper by hand and put it in the bottom of my charcoal chimney. Hasn’t failed me yet. If the weather is damn, add a little
Canola or Olive Oil to a paper towel. Combine with the shredded paper.

I use these but typically split them in 1/2 so I get 2 cooks out of 1 cube.
Does your have a switch that allows you to turn it on and leave it going? I just bought one from Amazon and it requires me to stand there and push the button the entire time. I just don’t have the patience. Mine definitely takes longer than 1 minute to light. So I have gone back to the cubes or the tumbleweeds.

Had a few phone books saved up just for this reason, but recently ran out. Started using brown paper bags that i get when purchasing wine or other glas bottles bagged at a grocery store.

A little paper from the formerly full charcoal bag and some dryer lint never fails me. I mean, it doesn’t even require a match. A strike from a carbon steel rod will light it.
That and it reminds me to keep my lint trap cleaned. No wonder they can light a whole house when not maintained.
I’m truly puzzled at why anyone would spend money on starters.

I use a chimney, which can double as a device for super high heat sear after sous vide cooking.
