Best dessert(s) in Baton Rouge?

My thread about your best "put together" to-go meal in Baton Rouge got me thinking about who has the best dessert and/or best dessert menu in Baton Rouge.
I actually get mad when I enjoy a great meal in BR and when it comes to dessert, they offer bread pudding or a brownie & ice cream.
I want a real artistic dessert made by a pastry chef or similar, not an after thought to make sure I'm full after a $150 meal for two.
Back in the 70's & 80's, there was a restaurant on Government St near BRHS called Giamanico's (spl). They had an amazing dessert counter. I don't know if they made them in-house or shipped them in from New Orleans or somewhere, but the selection was out of this world.
I believe the best dessert selection in Baton Rouge is from a chain restaurant, Le Madeliene's. Their dessert counter is loaded!!!
To be honest, one of my favorite desserts of all time is still the "Hot Fudge Cake" from Shoney's. Shoney's food was nasty, the breakfast bar gave everyone the flying shits, but this hot fudge cake was legit.

Give me a blizzard any day over dessert at a restaurant.

I know Giamanco's had their spumoni delivered from Brocatto's in New Orleans. I miss Giamanco's but glad I can still get my favorite dessert.

Brownie & ice cream =/= hot fudge cake from Shoney's
(Plus it's been nearly 20 years since I've had the hot fudge cake from Shoney's)

Best desserts I have found are at Maison Lacour. Every single one is legit.
My absolute favorite though is the almond cream cake at Gino's.

But you just said you get mad at brownies and ice cream?
I prefer something light like a sorbet.

It is seasonal, but Roberto's King Cake Bread Pudding is awesome.

I don't get mad at brownie and ice cream or bread pudding, I get mad at the lack of selection of a great dessert, after dropping a ton of money at a fine restaurant.
Take Brennan's banana foster. It's just rum, sugar, and bananas, served over ice cream, but the presentation is what makes it great. It's part of the dinning experience, not just an after thought.

When it is fresh it is hard to beat, but last time it was freezer burnt
Key Lime pie at either J alexanders or superior is great as well

I'm good with caramel cup custard from Galatoire's or creme brulee from Ruth's Chris or just about anywhere it's served.
I also love getting the shake at Ruth's Chris. I think it's something like a praline shake made with praline liqueur. Doubles as a dessert and after dinner drink. I like to get it to go and enjoy it at home in my pjs.
I don't always order dessert and when I do, I prefer to share it. Just a few bites of something sweet after a meal satisfies me.

Grapefruit tart at K Street. Not sure if it's still on the menu they change the desserts pretty often.
