Headed to the Beau and I’ve been to every Ruth Chris I can think of, is Mary Mahoney’s it’s old self and what it used to be? I’ve done BR Prime, Stella, Jia, Mignon’s, etc.

32 at IP

How would you rate 32 at IP vs Ruth Chris. My wife and I are going to Biloxi soon and would like to make reservations at a nice place. We scratched out Mary Mahoney's after talking with a few recent diners and were settling in on Ruth's, White Pillars or 32.

Also, in terms of going out after dinner, does the IP offer as much as the Beau / Hard Rock? Ideally we would eat near our next destination and not need multiple Ubers.

Sycamore House has my vote (women absolutely love it), it's certainly not the most expensive though. C&C produces some fine whole fish and steak dishes as well.

Both in BSL.

BR Prime is my favorite. I enjoy the atmosphere at Mary Mahoney's but the food is stuck in the 1980's. The restaurant and menu haven't changed much (except for the prices)but the competition has gotten better. I still like it though.

I live on the coast and the idea of going to a casino to eat is just a deal breaker. No can do. It's gotta have better personality than that.

Hell, the Jourdan River Steamer would be a good place as well.

I’m not a good judge for this specific question as I don’t like steak. I mainly eat seafood when out to eat and I definitely would order seafood from 32. The views are beautiful if you time it right at sunset.

Lots to do at ip or hard rock before and after dinner

What’s better dinner or brunch? Dining somewhere in Nola Friday night then the coast Saturday night and brunch somewhere Sunday either coast or Nola.

Great place for 2 or 3 guys to belly up to the bar for bourbon and something rare.

Do Sunday brunch in Nola. Nothing will compare over here. Commanders Sunday Jazz Brunch is my favorite.

I had lunch at Commander's yesterday. If you want to include New Orleans I could rattle off my top 50 without crossing the state line.

Syc House is great for both, but you have to tie it in with a shop stroll, for your wife. An early Saturday dinner probably works best for that.

If you're asking for this weekend, or next, there is also a Little Theatre play you could follow brunch with at 2pm. The play is Harvey. https://www.bsllt.org/

Syc House is special, and weird, and really is s must do. Husband head chef, wife does soups/dressings (i think) and deserts, and they live upstairs of a beautiful old house. Back patio is a treat.

So Sycamour House sounds like a leading candidate although it is quite far from Biloxi.

Any other thoughts on White Pillars for the fancy(ish) dinner option?

A place like White Pillars is about as fancy as the coast gets (it's not really fancy). It's the best restaurant in GPT and Biloxi. It's also the best bet if you dont want to travel to the Pass or BSL and dont want to go to a casino.

fine dining

Good food to be had, but no such thing as fine dining on the coast. If you are at the Beau then I would suggest heading over to Ocean Springs for dinner. They have a couple good places that you can probably figure out through a Yelp or Google search.
